Community News 9/15/15

Midweek Worship
Tomorrow evening Pastor Todd will be speaking and praying at 6:30 PM.  Snacks will be provided at 6:00 PM.  Preschool Ministry, Childcare Ministry, and Switch Middle School Ministry will begin at 6:30 PM.

Foster Care Class
All interested people should come to the Foster Care Class meeting this Wednesday at 6:30 PM in the blue room to learn about foster care and the class requirements.  This class is part of the 10 week training and will count towards required training hours.  Childcare will be provided.  Sign up by calling the church office.  For more information about foster care you can reach Angela Bollo at 828-713-6313 or abollo@blackmountainhome.org.  

Baby Dedication
Baby Dedication will be held on October 18th during both Worships.  If you would like to dedicate your child to the Lord, please email Tracy at tracy@brevardcommunity.org.

Blood Drive
Save a life by donating your blood.  The American Red Cross will be here on Monday, September 28th from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM in the blue room.  To make an appointment, visit www.redcrossblood.org.  Type in 28712 beside Find A Blood Drive.  Click on Brevard Community Church and choose a donation time.  Donors can also call 1-800-REDCROSS to make an appointment.

Community News 9/8/15


Life Group Connect
Tomorrow we will have a Life Group Connect evening.  We will begin with Worship songs at 6:30 PM and then have a short teaching time on why Life Groups and Sunday mornings are vital to the mission here at BCC.  This will be followed by a couple of testimonies.  We will end the evening with a meet and greet time where we can engage with groups to ask questions and connect with other groups.  Snacks will be provided at 6:00 PM.  Preschool Ministry and Children's Ministry will start at 6:30 PM.

Switch Middle School and High School Ministry
Switch Middle School Ministry will begin meeting tomorrow evening at 6:30 PM in the student center.  Switch Middle School and High School Ministry will begin Small Groups next Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the student center.  This will be a night with food, fun, and time in the Word.

Ladies' Breakfast
Join us for Part III of How To Share Your Faith In Conversation this Saturday at 8:00 AM in the student center.  Worship music will be led by Ginger Morgan and Pastor Alan Perry will lead you in a group discussion.  Bring a breakfast dish to share.

Women's Bible Study
You are invited to the Jeremiah Bible Study by Melissa Spoelestra.  In this six week study you will examine God's words of instruction to His wayward people through the prophet Jeremiah. Starting September 18th the ladies will meet every Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 AM here at BCC. Books costs $11.00 and childcare is available. Sign up at the back of the Worship Center this Sunday or email Carissa Sellers for more information at cjsellers@comporium.net.

Ladies, Save The Date
The Christmas Tea is returning on December 12th.  If you are interested in helping to plan the Christmas Tea this year, or if you would like to decorate or host a table for 8 ladies, please contact Metta Redding at mredding94@gmail.com.  Planners are also needed for a variety of tasks.  Check out the Facebook page, BCC Ladies Ministry for photos of table decorations from the past.

Community News 9/1/15


Solemn Assembly
Join us tomorrow evening at 6:30 PM as Pastor Todd leads us in a Solemn Assembly.  Experience the presence of the Lord and community with the saints as we seek the Lord together.  Snacks will be provided at 6:00 PM.  The Children's Ministry and Preschool Ministry will begin at 6:30 PM.

Men's Fellowship Breakfast
The Men's Ministry encourages men of all ages to join them for a breakfast and an inspiring message.  The Men's Fellowship Breakfast will be held this Saturday at 7:30 AM in the student center.  

Church Office Closed
In observance of Labor Day, the church office will be closed next Monday on September 7th.

Community News 8/25/15


Baptism and Picnic
Tomorrow evening we will have a picnic and Baptism at Sycamore Flats!  BCC will provide a shuttle from our parking lot to Sycamore Flats beginning at 5:00 PM.  The meal will start at 5:30 PM under the covered picnic shelter.  Baptism will be at 6:30 PM.  We will provide the meal but don't forget to bring a lawn chair.  If you are interested in being baptized, call the church at 884-5932.

Communion
This Sunday during both Worships we will observe Communion.  Communion is a reminder of the Savior's broken body and shed blood for our sins.

Discovering Membership
Are you interested in becoming a member?  Join us for Discovering Membership this Sunday at 12:30 PM in the Worship Center.  Lunch and childcare will be provided.

Switch Middle School and High School Parent Meeting
Pastor Brad Snipes will have a meeting for all middle school parents in the student center after second Worship this Sunday.  Pastor Brent Metcalf will have a meeting for all high school parents in the student center during second Worship this Sunday.

Next Wednesday
Join us next Wednesday for Midweek Worship!  Pastor Todd will be leading us in a Solemn Assembly!  Come experience the presence of the Lord and community with the saints as we seek the Lord together!

Leaders Needed
Preschool Ministry is in need of helpers and leaders from September 6th, 2015 to March 5th, 2016.  If you are interested in helping please see Tracy Pace.  
     -2 people in the Turtles Class (birth to 17 months) during First Worship and 3 people in      
       the Turtles Class during Second Worship.
     -1 teacher and 1 helper for the Fireflies Class (2 year olds) during First and Second 
       Worship.
     -2 check-in receptionists during Second Worship.

The Gospel Project Chronological 
Hey parents of K-5 children.  Want to study the same Scripture and Bible stories your children are learning?  Join us for the Gospel Project For Adults on Sundays at 9:30 AM beginning September 6th.  This adult study synchronizes with the children's programs, which allows you to have some great conversations with your children about all your learning in God's Word.  This study is open to any and all adults (whether you have children or not).  This 13 week study in Genesis is led by Sheila Alewine, Hope Kelly, and Trudy Pierron.  Participant guides are $5.  Check out www.gospelproject.com for more info.  To sign up or ask questions, contact Trudy Pierron at gtpierron@citcom.net.

Community News 7/21/15


Prayer Walking
Whether you are a prayer novice or a prayer warrior, you are encouraged to pray for our country, city, community, and culture.  Pastor Todd will meet with everyone tomorrow evening at 6:30 PM in the Worship Center.  Some will be praying here and others will go out and prayer walk.  Snacks will be provided at 6:00 PM.  The Children's Ministry and Preschool Ministry will open at 6:30 PM.  

Midweek Worship
Due to Kingdom Quest, there will be no Midweek Worship next Wednesday, July 29th.

Men's Fellowship Breakfast
On Saturday, August 1st breakfast will be provided in the student center at 7:30 AM.  Men will enjoy an encouraging message and time in the Word.

Take A Meal
Michelle Dupree found out this past week that she has cancer.  She had surgery on Saturday and will start chemotherapy in three to six weeks.  Michelle has graciously cooked for Brevard Community Church for the past 15 years, so it is our turn to take care of her.  If you would like to take a meal to Bobby and her visit the website, http://www.takethemameal.com/meals.php?t=IZCO2935 .  As a praise, Michelle is going home today.  Please continue to remember her and the family in your prayers.  

Leaders

Community News 7/14/15


Ice Cream Social 
Tomorrow evening we will meet at 6:30 PM in the student center for a sweet treat.  Bring a dessert and we will provide the ice cream.  There will be games for the whole family including volleyball and corn hole.  Childcare will not be provided.

Vacation Bible School
Thank you for all the countless hours spent working on making Vacation Bible School a huge success. We appreciate all your hard work!  During the week, close to 300 kids and leaders were encouraged to mature in Christ. 

Life Recovery For Men
This ministry offers a safe, welcoming, and grace filled environment with Christ-centered fellowship.  Join us every Tuesday night at 6:30 PM in the student center.

Prayer 
Please remember to pray for the high school students that are at the High School Camp in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Prayer Walking
On Wednesday, July 22nd, we will gather at 6:30 PM in the Worship Center before we begin our prayer walking throughout the community.  There will be snacks at 6:00 PM.

Middle School Mission Trip
The middle school mission trip dates and times have changed.  The mission trip will begin on Monday, July 20th and will end on Thursday, July 23rd.  It will start at 9:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM every day.  Please make sure to bring bagged lunches.  There is no cost for the mission trip.

Vacation Bible School 
Thank you volunteers, Vacation Bible School is off to a great start!  There will be no Midweek Worship tomorrow evening due to VBS.  

Ladies' Running Group
Ladies will meet at 7:00 PM in the blue room this evening to run or walk and will have a devotional at the end of the workout.  If you plan to come this evening, please email Metta Redding at mredding96@gmail.com by 4:30 PM this afternoon.

Life Recovery For Men
This ministry offers a safe, welcoming, and grace filled environment with Christ-centered fellowship.  Join us every Tuesday night at 6:30 PM in the student center starting tonight.

High School Parent Meeting
Pastor Brent Metcalf will have a short informational meeting for parents of high school students who are going to High School Camp.  The meeting will be directly following second worship this Sunday in the student center.

Kingdom Quest
Kingdom Quest is an exciting day camp from Monday, July 27th through Friday, July 31st from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day, and is for rising 1st through rising 6th graders.  The registration deadline is July 10th.  Register by going to www.brevardcommunity.org, click on Forms and then select Kingdom Quest.  Cost is $105.
