SO?

Growing up I often would respond by saying “so?”  I’m not so proud of that response because it was not from a pure and respectful heart!  It was more like saying “Why are you telling me this?”

For some reason that response has come back to me over the last few days.  But I am thrilled that it is now not out of disrespect, but from deep respect and reverence.  What changed in my attitude?

Christ’s words in Matthew 16:24 led me there.  “Then Jesus said to His disciples, if anyone wishes to come after Me, let Him deny himself, take up his cross and follow Me.”  Now how did that lead me to SO?

God has been teaching me about daily surrender and obedience.  Everyday He hammers on this one truth! All I want from you today is you.  So, SO took on a whole new meaning.

I love acrostics because they trigger my thinking.  S is for "surrender" and O is for "obedience."  Each day I ask this question to the Lord.  “So today Lord, what is your plan?” and His answer is Surrender and Obedience every day.

As you begin your day, may this help you remember what the Lord wants of us!  I hope this will serve as a trigger for you today as we live out our lives in daily surrender and obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ.
